When I look at this it makes me want to cry and turn away and just RUN.

This is such a visually and conceptually STRONG image - I don't feel like people are usually brave enough to look terror in the face this clearly. Literally! Is it scarier that this is a demon-beast-creature or is it because it's an axe wielding maniac coming for you? Dark art seems so much safer to look at when you're just looking, peering into a scene from far away, and at a comfortable vantage point. This photo is decidedly UNcomfortable - it's in our faces and loud and screaming and just coming right at us. His eyes burn right into our souls and it's so difficult to look at, yet it's so difficult to look away at the same time. Like I'm staring down my fears.

In other news, I also think this is lit perfectly - you've fed the camera enough light to make the details magical, but the black background really suits the image very well, on an aesthetic and conceptual level. It looks awesome and makes it creepy, like he's coming for you in the dark, but at the same time it's like he's nowhere, in nothing, like it's just in our heads or something. The blood and makeup are also pretty perfect.

I pretty much love this, I think it's brilliant, and I'm gonna leave the page now before it gives me nightmares.
